Hey everyone I'm needing a hybrid desperately, and I found the Nickent 3dx RC which I think I wanna buy. This hybrid looks real nice and clean and sets up well, but I can't find any reviews anywhere... has anyone hit this club or know how it performs compared to the 3dx DC. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
-Brian

I have heard nothing but good things about most of the Nickent hybrids, and I acutally just ordered a 3dx RC hybrid iron set. I should be able to let you know more about it in about a week, if they ship quickly (I hope!)

Oh ok yeah well once you get them let me know... good luck on getting them quickly! Nothing like waiting for some new sticks. I have been finding them hard to get though because they are back ordered on golfsmith.com and tgw.com doesn't have them in lefty, so I think I'm just going to buy a 3dx DC Hybrid 17 degrees for now, and then order a 20 degree 3dx RC in a few weeks.

Do you think I should get the 3dx RC or just take the bargain on the 3dx DC?

I just bought a set of the 3DX RC Hybrid Irons for my son. They came with two hybrids and six irons. The irons have the Uniflex steel shafts, while the hybrids have a graphite shaft. He has fallen in love with them, and is hitting them very nicely.

I'm a Titleist guy all the way, but I've hit a couple of his irons, as well as one of his hybrids. Each club I hit felt very solid and the ball jumped off the clubface. I really like how they set up, as well. If I didn't already love my Titleist hybrid, I would probably try one of the Nickent hybrids. After checking their site and reading a little, I'm kind of curious about their 4DX Tour Driver.

Yeah I'm a titleist guy myself except for irons, mizuno all the way, but I'm really starting to like some of Nickent's stuff so I wanna pick up one of their hybrids.

I bought a 3DX RC hybrid about two weeks ago and have played 3 rounds with it..I love it. I have the 20*, (#3), in standard stiff shaft and I like it better than any hybrid I've had, (Heavenwood, X, Burner). I hit a 3 iron about 200, and I hit this hybrid 215 off the fairway and around 225 off a tee. It has a nice solid feel to it and the only problem I had was hooking it at first...but that's me, not the club. (I have to remember to hit it like a 7 iron, not a 3 wood). I've never tried the 3DX DC, so I can't compare.

    • Day 27 - 2026-01-16 Played 18 with some of the usual "too many voices" going on when I'm working on swing stuff. Fun to get out in great bay area winter weather.
    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.
