Is driving a par 4 considered a hit fairway, a missed fairway, or neither?

It depends on how the ball gets onto the green for me. If it hits the fairway, and rolls up, I'll count it as a hit fairway because the ball did initially touch the fairway first.

If it hits the rough, I won't count it.

What a high class problem! I would consider hitting in the short grass as a fairway hit. Grass doesn't get any shorter than the green.

Haha, i didn't think of it that way... I swear I'm not a snob!

The hole which sparked this question was only 258 yards long from the front tees, and i didn't quite make it on but I had a "what if" moment...
