  1. 1. Vokey Wedges - Oil Can or Tour Chrome?

Oil Can wedges ARE SUPPOSED TO RUST !!!!!!!! That's the point.

I dont understand why youd ever want a club to rust. All its going to do is make the grooves wear down move and give you less spin.

Unless you are under the delusion that rust gives you more spin. It doesnt. Rust does NOTHING to increase spin.

I pulled the trigger and bought a 50 degree Oil Can Vokey to fill my gap.

Now I'm out for 54 degree vokey to replace my SW. I'm going to wait to see if I like the oil can. I probably will go to ebay for it - the 50 degree was non - existent outside of "new" - so I went to TGW for it.

Keep the poll going!

I voted Tour Chrome, but the Gun Metal finish is what I like the most. Vokey doesn't have those out, yet.

I like the tour chrome it looks better in my bag with the rest of my silver colored clubs. When i see an oil can it just looks dirty to me.

remember though... if you buy an oil can you have a lot more refinishing options when the wedges wears down

chrome would have to be dechromed in order to use any other finish, whereas an oil can can be sent away, regrooved and finished with a black oxide, black rainbow, rainbow torch, copper, raw, black nickel, etc etc etc

I have the chrome wedges but it is wearing off on the ones I use the most. Next time I'm buying the oil can. Frames the ball better and is suppose to have slightly more feel.

Oil Can is a intresting design and it doesnt show the wear as much.

Also if your ever bored of the finish just leave it in a jug of coke over night. Pulls the finish right off >_<

If you have irons with the chrome look, I would get the chrome wedge.

I prefer using vinegar, seems to be a cleaner liquid to use

Went to the range this afternoon with my new Vokey... WOW!

I've never been able to hit a new club so good so fast. I was actually backing up range balls ... !

Love it so far - now I need a 56 to complement...

    • Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…

    • Only ever used ShipSticks and never had a problem. It's really nice because you can ship to anywhere not just courses.  No matter what you use, I take the extra care of the clubs and wrap them in something before putting them in your bag and into the shipping box.
    • Practicing my putting after work. I put five balls on the carpet and a mug on the other side. Once I make 3 out of 5 I can stop. If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
