questions on upgrading irons

i'm currently in the process of replacing my set of nike nds irons because within the year that i've owned them i've outgrew them and to get them refitted would be more than i payed for the whole set. I was wondering what a good set of irons would be for an 8hcp and the most of my shots are thrown away while on the green putting.

i have very consistent ball striking and from working with a local fitter my problem with missing greens was more a problem with having a to soft of shaft in my irons. i have heard great things about mizunos, titleist, and bridgestone irons but i was wondering which models would be the best.

I would consider the Mizuno mp30s, mp32, mp60 irons on ebay for about $200-$400.

I see that you are from Bowling Green OH - I would highly recommend taking a small road trip to Carl's Golfland in MI. There are 2 stores which are a little more than an hour from you. They have an outside range and you can try almost every imaginable club. I have had teriffic luck with them, knowledgeable staff and great selection. They tyipcally had a very good used club section as well due to all the trade ins.

I have purchased 2 sets of irons from them and was very satisfied. If you don't want to travel as far, see Nick at South Toledo golf - they do a very good job with custom fittings.

I went from a game improvement iron (TM RAC OS2) to the Titleist AP2 and haven't looked back. Great feel, distance control and trajectory while still being forgiving enough for me.
