Ya thats awesome that they are doing that. I just wish our government would help get the stuff shipped over and show some common decency to the troops who keep our freedom alive.

A great idea. Having been in Afghanistan for six months, I would have loved to have some clubs to swing while there. It really irritates me that we run into so much trouble when trying to get a large shipment (of anything) delivered to our folks over there. --LBB

we did something for the troops at my work,(grocerystore) we were selling packs of cookies at the registers and ppl wanted to do toothbrushes and apparently panty hose is big over there helps with sand fleas or something, but anyway

we sold over 1000 packs of cookies, and countless freakin toothbrushes, we called up our town office cause they would send stuff tot he troops, they said for us to send it over it would cost over 1000$ in shipping yes 1 thousand lol

so then we had to put cups out at the registers explaining what was going on, and we raised the 1000 in like 2 days, it was quick

but after we raised all that money a guy from the national guard called and told us he was making a special trip to iraq and they would take it over for us for free, so i guess it just depends who ya deal with as far is getting them to take it over

so we took the 1000 and bought as many cookies and toothbrushes and panyhose we could get.

That was a great thing to do. No matter what anyone's opinion is on the war, the young men and women over there fighting for not only the freedom of our country, but the freedom of others need to know that we support them and appreciate all that they do.
