2 Man Scramble and scats

My local golf course has 2 man scrambles 3 times a week and also plays scats. I have never done this is the 2 man scramble just 2 man best ball. How about scats how do that work. I recall a guy once say something about if you tie they get carried over to the next hole.

A scramble is not the same as best-ball.

In best-ball, each player plays their ball for the entire hole and the team uses the lower score (best-ball) as their team score.

In a scramble, both players hit and then choose the better shot. They then hit both their shots from there.

I've never heard of "scats" before.
