I demo'ed the golds for about 2 weeks. It purely comes down to what you like and how you play the ball. They are both workable but the reds are better for shaping. I couldnt stand the golds because I wasnt used to a game improvement iron.

I was coming off 7 year old adams irons that were significantly smaller. I couldnt get used to the larger heads... I liked the reds but I ended up settling on the MP57s after trying the golds, reds, xforged, then the Mizuno's.

I would say unless you are a very good ball striker to get the golds. That is even if you like them, I love my r7s, they're very forgiving and i can work them fairly well. Try a ton of sets and see whats your favorite. Also, if you hit the reds better who cares get them.
