I can't take the entire NBC crew any longer!!!!!!

GAH!!! It's driving me nuts!!!!

1) They constantly refer to each other by name!!!! This isn't about proper grammer or just preference. Honestly, they make me feel like I'm intruding on THEIR viewing of the round. It's not like they do it only when the day starts, like they're just letting us know who's out there. They're still doing it, on EVERY "transfer" of the mic, on the 18th hole.

AND

2) Their analysis is AWFUL. Every upcoming shot, they go into a hundred things that make it the hardest shot in history. Then, when the pro gracefully plops whatever it is pin-high, proper level, with spin, etc..., they give this noncommittal half-approval. They're tearing up 7300-yd courses, hitting sky-high 5-irons 220 yards, dropping 30-foot curving putts, splashing out of bunkers the size of WWII foxholes and all you get from these jokers are "*tsk*, well.....ok....he would have rather been below the hole, but that's not bad...."

"What kind of lie's he got there, Gary?"

"Weeeeeellll, Johnny, it's not very good. The ball is slightly above his feet, it's nestled down in the grass, and there's a small branch about forty yards in front of him that he'll have to contend with. The pins in the back right, it will be VERY difficult to get it back there."

*Pro takes five seconds, steps up, drills it out*

"That looked like it came out hot, and I think maybe he pulled it. How's it look, Mark Rolfing?"

"Johnny, it looks pretty good, it's headed toward the middle."

*ball lands in middle of green, rolls to the back, I'd give my left testicle to be able to hit that shot*

"Thaaaat's not too bad, it won't get over to the tiny little corner where the pin is, but he'll take that."

"What kind of putt will he have there, Dottie?"

"Well, Johnny...."

I'll give you another example: The ball that AK put off the tent last week. They slow-mo'd the swing. Johnny and Roger gang up on the analysis, back and forth, "Roger, it looks good here, what goes wrong?" "I don't know, Johnny, he seemed like he hit it ok..." blah, blah. Finally, Johnny Miller goes, "UHP, yep, right there, you see that left toe turn down and out, that's what did it!"

Hey, lardbag, a professional golfer just hit it 60 yards off-target. The ball didn't grow a right rudder and suddenly dash left. Obviously, SOMETHING happened to make that occur. Just because you can spot it on a slow-mo camera, doesn't mean you just "analyzed" the shot. Seriously, the whole thing was mere semantics away from, "yep, you can see right there, the club was pointed left when he hit it. That'll do it."

I hope another network gets PGA rights soon.......

Just to add what you said. I've heard Johnny Miller say about a thousand times when the ball is just off the green or in the rough---"That shot is very makeable." All the times he's said that I've never seen anyone hole it. It's almost like a jynx.

That's why it was so much fun to listen to Tiger correct Johnny Miller at the Match Play event, this year. Johnny would say one thing and Tiger would disagree and correct him.

Do I like Johnny? For the most part, I do. I like his knowledge of the game but I don't like the attitude in his explanation. Just rubs me, wrong.

I will give him credit, though. The guy works his ass off before each tournament going over the course and speaking to officials. His prep work is top-notch.
