I'm looking at swapping my ping G2's for a set of Nike CCI irons. The only real downfall I hear about the nike's is that they hurt your distance, which to me isn't really a big deal. Does anybody have any opinions? Why to or not to make the switch? Any help would be great, thanks!

I have some CCi's (cast) and I didn't notice a loss of distance after swapping from wilson staff blades. They are good irons, can't compare them to the G2's though as I've never hit them. They are pretty forgiving in my opinion, go for it.

I have a set of Cast CCi with graphite shafts and have not seen a loss in distance from the G2. I've had sets of i3, i3+, G2, i5 and currently i10. I kept the G2 set in the trunk because they were very forgiving and travelled well, course to course. I sold them to a friend and got the nike's on a whim because I liked the way they looked (I had just gotten a set of Wilson Di7 irons, love them, very forgiving, and now I'm experimenting with the Adams Tech OS irons). You will notice a difference in forgivness, the CCi's are not a super game improvement iron, and mis hits do lose a good bit of distance, maybe even a club. They are not as forgiving as the G2's, but they are still forgiving, more like a set of i3's, maybe just slightly less forgiving. You will notice a difference on the mishits, loss in distance, but center hit to center hit, they should be the same. Also, they are smaller and have less offset than the G2's. I like them, but unless you strike the ball fairly well, you may be disappointed, but I can't really say. I have heard and read alot of people say they lost distance, but it was not the case for me. Hope that helps.... jmoc

Thanks for your input....I may just stick with my G2's because I can use the extra forgiveness, thanks again.
