Just wondering. Mine hovers between 5.9-7.2

Your scores must have some large variances considering the method used to calculate a USGA h/c - 96% of the average of the lowest 10 differentials in your last 20 scores revised 15 times a season. Or are you talking about some other method?

Yes this is an USGA. My top 10 rounds are 73-81, BUT my bad rounds can go up to 88.

Highest ten differentials of the last 20 don't get calculated in your h/c so a stray 88 shouldn't matter. Out of curiosity, what service are you using?

I assume this variance may take place over a longer period of time...

Mine can range +/- a stroke during a year. (post about 40 rounds a year)

With 25 scores, there would be only 5 scores difference between the earliest and latest possible handicap calculation. I didn't do the math but is it possible to have a 2 stroke variation with only 5 scores changing?

For the data posted, no. I calculated:

10/21/2008 6.9 10/19/2008 7.2 10/16/2008 7.2 10/14/2008 7.7 10/12/2008 7.9 9/28/2008 7.9 My official h/c dropped 7.9 strokes this year and the biggest change in any of the official 2 week periods was 3.7 strokes. But I attribute that to some early season big scores dropping out of the calculation.

    • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
    • Day 23: Rained all day, so no ball hitting. Worked indoors on top of the backswing feel, and also putted around the living room working on bead.
    • Played Four Oaks in Dracut today going back to the 2 man scramble match play format. My brother and I shot a team 81 winning 3 and 2. Had so many good shots today using a more centered turn. Seems to have really iginited my golf game. We'll see if I can keep it going.
