Let me get this right;Golf pro's have it tough going around the country playing a game that they love

Not everyone of them love the game. I was in the Military and was amazed how many liberal people I found in uniform, I did Police work for a while and could not believe how many of the guys hated guns or could barely qualify with one. These people were doing a job, I'd bet you'd find a good percentage of the Pro's that don't really care for golf, they just happened to be real good at it and they grabbed the ring. Would I do it for a year, sure, but I wouldn't want to miss my son growing up to do it for a living. Check back in 7 years

Don't forget the advantage of not having all that money and not being sure what to do with it. That would be too stressful...

And also, the golf groupie girls. I wouldn't know what to do with all those women just looking to take advantage of my body. Oh, the horror.

Here is something that no one has brought up yet -

I love the fact that I can go out and have a good time without my exploits being photographed by everyone ...

Imagine, if you will, Boo goes to a kegger gets completely wasted and decides to go streaking (what - you've never done it? ). Now, there is some Johnny-on-the-spot reporter that just happens to see all this, pops a few candid photos and now, he has the cover story of a lifetime.

How would you guys like it if your drunkeness were publically broadcast (and, for some of you guys, I am sure it has been ). Then what if your boss fined you, or even worse, for blowing off some steam on the weekend.

I know that there are consequences to all decisions, but living life as a professional athelete exponentially complicates those decisions. I am personally thankful of my virtual anonimity and like the fact that I can go out with my boys, or my wife, without being bother by people looking for me to sign a piece of paper, clothing or body parts (oh, BTW, Ladies, I will always sign your body parts no matter how unknown I am! ).

Jeez, some people are really grasping at straws. Other than Tiger Woods and perhaps a very few others, PGA Golfers don't exactly have the papparazzi knocking down their door. I know several PGA Tour pros including one that has won 4 tournaments on tour and they have very little in the way of people intruding on their personal lives. These guys aren't exactly bradjelina. He won 4 tournaments and played on the Presidents Cup team with Tiger Woods as his partner and still just worked out at the local gym and played golf with us at the local muni. No one bugged him.

I think we would be hard pressed to find a single person on this forum who if it was possible wouldn't switch places with the guy who was 125th on the money list. Heck sign me up to switch places with the guy who was 200th on the list, he still made $183,000 and only played 14 events. I would love to play golf for a living work 14 weeks out of the year and make that kind of cash. You guys are crazy.

No need to get nasty, or even annoyed ... we all have different opinions - I have two friends who play in the NHL and this happens to them when we go out. Now, tell me, compared to golf, how much coverage that hockey gets. So you can't say that this situaiton COULDN'T happen bcause, really, it could. And that is the cost of living your life in the public eye ...

Now, you might argue that they aren't in the "public eye", and to some extent you are right - but they aren't completely out of it either.

Whatever - to each his own ... I'll take my regular salary and enjoy my anonimity. Besides, if I were playing golf for a living it probably wouldn't be fun anymore, especially if I HAD to succeed to have income for my family.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
