Someone told me that even PGA Pro's have to pay for each tournament they enter, this makes complete sense, but how much is the price to play? If there fighting for half a million dollars or more i'de imagine it must be a couple grand to enter! Merry Christmas

i've heard - mind you, just heard, i don't know this as fact - that the average entry fee on the pga tour is 1500.

I can't imagine players like Tiger, Phil, VJ...pay to play...the tournament makes more money if they are there.

most tour players(if not all of them) are sponsored. the sponsors usually pick up the tab for all pga tour events. i have heard that players do have to pay to play in non-sanctioned tour events, but most of those are charity events so they trade the $1000 or so for karma points in the end.
