Cost of fitted/custom made clubs

does it cost extra to get clubs fitted and if so how much would that cost. i would be getting them cut down maybe 1/2 inch or so

Most of the time it does cost more... The price will depend on where you go and how much they have to work on the clubs

From what I've seen in my area, custom fitting a set of irons will cost anywhere from $75 on up to the hundreds. But in most cases, the amount you spend on fitting will be taken off the purchase price of the irons, minus maybe $25-50 for the club fitter's pocket. So basically, if you are going for major brand irons, in the long run the fitting cost are $0-$50 or so - assuming you are buying irons. But this is just based on the pricing in my area. If you brought irons that you already own to be fitted, the prices can a bit higher.

When I ordered my Titleist Irons (from the factory), I ordered 2* upright, and 1/2" longer with no extra cost.
I did the fitting with my pro during a training session.

It didn't cost me anything. However, I put a different (and more expensive) shaft in my irons, which obviously costed more. If you don't do anything like changing the shaft or grip, I would guess that it should not cost any extra money.
