Hi all,

I'm looking at buying two new vokey wedges, a 52.08 and a 58.08. I have both of these in stock at my local pro shop, however one has the new vokey design dynamic gold shaft label whilst the other has the universal Dynamic Gold Wedge flex sticker. Is this something to worry about or do you think they were just using up old labels?

Cheers,
James

If you are worried about it, you could always order a custom one (length and lie) and I'm sure they would come with the same shafts.

For a 26 handicap, I would say it does not matter anyway.

Ouch

I shoot high and I'd still like to know I wasn't paying current year price for last year's stuff... I do agree that if there's a question in your mind at all (and you're paying full pop) that you should just wait and get the one that's exactly what you want. Wedges seem to be almost like putters in that the "feel" of it (a subjective and unquantifiable measure, could be affected by anything for anyone) and what's in your head when you address the ball has to be all good vibes. If you don't get that good vibe feeling because of the shaft mismatch then I'd say just buy it somewhere else.

I think it matters a lot, even if your handicap is 26. First, are they S200, S300, etc.? So you want to make sure they are the same flex. Vokey and Titleist offer them in different flexes. Vokey seems to offer Dynamic Golds and Titleist has other custom options, but still sells Vokeys with Dynamic Golds but I would tend to think you may have the same Dynamic Golds (assuming the same flex) with slightly different labels. I would ask the seller to get that information for you if you are buying them off the rack, so to speak, and I see nothing wrong with wanting consistent shafts in your wedges and I think the seller could and would get that information for you.

I haven't looked close enough at the labels to be sure because when I first picked up one of the new Vokey wedges, I saw the different looking label and put it down thinking that they had done as Cleveland had done. At some point after the original release of the CG12 wedges they came out with a stock shaft that was actually made by Cleveland. I wanted the Dynamic Gold wedge flex shafts in both my wedges so I ended up getting the older released wedges which offered the shaft. If you are like me you will want to know what exactly you are getting.

Thanks guys. It would seem from the labels that they are both the same shaft. They both say Dynamic Gold Wedge Flex. One however has the Titleist Vokey writing on it. I would have thought this makes no difference. I'll check with the seller.

A question that I would have for the salesman is, "are these both the new models?" You might already know from the look. A key on the chrome is the new red paint in the spin milled emblem. I don't blame you for taking your time when you are not completely sure about these wedges because of the different labels. If you can be sure they are the new models, but the labels are different, although both telling you they are the shaft that you want, it might be enough. Depending, however, on what the salesman says you might not feel satisfied. If not you might try giving Titleist a call. They have been available to answer this type of question for me in the past.
