Don't sweat it. Most players will be worse than you so don't worry about looking foolish. The one thing about golf is the only thing players really care about is their own game, really.

Most important thing is to keep up. If that means picking up on disaster holes then do it, but all you want to do is not slow your partners down, don't talk when they're swinging or in preshot, or stand in their peripheral vision or line. And have fun, that's what it's all about.

I don't think the guy was being a smart ass, just pointing out something he saw. It's not like he called you names or anything. Lighten up.

Between the "off topic" suggestion and the "lol", I may have missed the sincere effort to be helpful. I think I got the message the way it was intended to be conveyed, otherwise it would have been conveyed differently. Anyway, more concerned about the original poster.

To him I say, nobody on this board has ever NOT felt like a "dummy" on any golf course. Embrace the learning process.

This may be one of the better threads Ive posted. Thanks for all the tips, I appreciate them. I was able to exchange phone numbers with a friend of mine I semi taught and tutored at the range. Ironically he plays alot more on the course than I do. So playing with a buddy: Somewhat done, he plays on the weekdays, but when I get a holiday, u can find me on the links. I think looking and observing is also a good tip. Thanks alot!
