I'm heading down to Punta Gorda next month for a few days of relaxing and playing some golf. This is my first time to this area. Can anyone recommend some nice courses to play in the area?

Thanks,
JOe

I was just actually down in fort myers during Christmas and played a few courses. The best one I played was The Plantation. The greens were in great condition and the fairways as well. They have a different kind of grass there, can't think of it right now. But the best value I must say was a newer course called River Hall. If you find a golf guide, which are usually at the course, there is a coupon in there. I ended up playing this course for $25 with cart. The course was in great condition!! I live in Michigan and that course here would be a $60-$70 course. Check it out, I am sure you will like it.

As you can imagine there are quite a few. Here are a few of my favorites in the area:

Bobcat Trail G&CC;
Riverwood CC
Kingsway CC
Deep Creek GC
Heron Creek G&CC;

When you get into town find an Embarq phone book. Inside there is a golf course index with locations and specs on each course, you might find it handy. It's mixed in with the yellow pages, starts on page 285. BTW, Kings Island no longer exists.

Enjoy your stay the area!
