I have never really tried to figure out myhandicap before. I recenty became interested in doing so. My problem is I routinely play after work and tend to only play nine holes. Almost all of the calculators I ahve seen require 18 holes, Does this mean I am out of luck. I would add two rounds together but the course I play has 27 holes and each set of nine has a different rating. Any help you guys could share would be great thanks.

It all depends on the tracker you use. Golf Channel lets you put in 9 hole rounds.
You can do the calculations yourself. If all 3 sets have separate ratings, they should have a low course rating, like 29 or something. That would indicate the course rating is for those nine holes only. In that case the calculations are the same. Slope will be specified to work with handicapping and the 113 factor.

18 hole courses with USGA ratings/slopes actually have a rating and slope for the front 9 and the back 9. See

http://www.usga.org/questions/faqs/h....asp?FAQidx=13

I don't know if the rating services that you use allow the manual entry of 9 hole ratings and slopes, but the data should be available and you could at least use that to do your own calculations.

BTW, 9 hole scores are combined to form 18 hole scores by the following rules.

1) Scores are combined in the order received 2) The 'course' rating is the sum of the two 9 hole ratings 3) The slope is the average of the two slopes See the USGA Handicap Manual 5-2d. dave

Our PLGA/SCGA system in CA will combine 9 hole results to factor them into your handicap.
