Arnie turns 80 this year, and his tournament at Bay Hill is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Congratulations to him on both landmarks---they are cause for celebration and recognition!

I like what Bill Fields says on page 13 of the current "Golf World" in giving advice to the current PGA Tour players, based on the example that The King set:

"Remember where you came from. NEVER forget that being a highly-paid pro athlete is a privilege, not a right. And most of all: play hard."

I think Arnie is the very model every player should try to emulate - not necessarily his game, but his attitude toward the game, the players and the fans. He is with little doubt the classiest player ever in golf and a good argument could be made that he is the classiest professional athlete in history for any sport. No one has ever handled themselves with more grace, honor and humility.

I agree with you. He has a real love for the game, and appreciates the fans who make professional golf possible so golfers like him could make a living doing it, without having a second job to make "ends meet". His Dad, Deke, taught him very well, and Arnie has tried his best to pass those lessons on conduct on to the younger generations, including his grandson.

    • Day 215: just some mirror work. Worked on earlier wrist hinge in the backswing.
    • Top two choices: Hide & Seek: Wallet With Hidden Pocket | Bellroy This billfold’s classic good looks and slim profile hide a clever secret – a concealed section inside that keeps extra bills, cards or coins out of sight. Ridge Wallet - Forged Carbon The strong, slim, and sustainable ridge wallet is now available as forged carbon wallet. The anodized aluminum plating lets you enjoy a scratch-resistant surface. • Day 142 - 2025-02-19 Had 45 minutes after some GEARS lessons and before a junior. Got some good work in.
    • He wasn't a bad guy. And he was just trying to get out there and get some fresh air and exercise. He ended up liking the new cane a lot, because in addition to not making pock marks on the greens, it also stood up by itself. He didn't have to hand it to somebody to hold while he hit his shot. Or lean it against the cart. It would just stand up by itself. ... Kind of like those stand up putters. ... 🤣
    • Sounds like you guys came up with a great solution.
