You have a good looking swing…

Some things to consider:

At address, your shoulders look like they are too far over your feet – try to tuck in your hips a bit – flex your knees more so you don’t have to bend at the waist so much.

On takeaway, think about a one-piece takeaway – let your shoulders turn to get the backswing started – avoid the temptation to start the backswing with the hands and arms.

Try to avoid posting on a straight right leg – keep a little flex in that leg, and try to avoid going past parallel on you backswing.

Lastly, finish your swing in balance – it looks like you fall off to the left at the completion of your swing.

As I said, it is a good looking swing – sounds like you nutted it.

You have a pretty nice swing but I think there may be a few things you can work on:

1. I can't tell if it's the angle of the camera but I believe you may be coming over the top. Which leads to the outside-in swing path. I also think you're divot was pointing to the left. (Again it may just be the camera angle)

2. Also try to stay balanced. I can tell you tried to hold your finish but slightly fell back. I suffer from this at times too.

3. Your swing is very "armsy" now theres nothing wrong with that but I think you could get more power efficiently by using more of your lower body.

4. Lastly at the top of the swing you go past parallel with your club and that may cause issues on your downswing.

These were just some suggestions and contructive criticism and if you can hit it solidly and consistently then that's awesome. Nice swing though.

“Nutted it” is a descriptive expression indicating that one has hit the ball cleanly and forcefully. And acoustically, the impact between club head and ball has that “crack” sound to it.

do you ever get a little backed up on the course at "prayer time". All of a sudden the group in front is kneeling on the green.

Hahahah!!

No, never had to face that before. But You can always see caddies and other guys working on the course praying in the fairways, not in the middle anyway, you'd never hit them unless you had a really bad slice/hook.

    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn. • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
