Putting arc???

My golf coach gave me one of these cuz my putting is BAD. He said this would surely help. So when i got home from school i put it in my basement and put some weight on it to help in not move. First off, i feel like my face is way too open, is this because i do not have a good stroke and it is an akward change? Also i occasionally have a putt that still misses right, is my face still open or do you think it is because tees aren't securing it to the ground like on a putting green? I will hopefully get to the course tomorrow to try it out. One last thing,when i use the putting arc i feel like i have to take a much longer stroke than with out it..... almost like taking a 20 footer stroke for 5 '.... why is this? Thanks for the help and information

Just have to make sure you have a constant acceleration to your stroke.
