Vokey Special Grind Wedges

My wedges are about 4 years old because they came in my set and haven't been replaced. Should they be replaced? I am looking into the Vokey Special Grind Wedges because my local golf pro shop has them for 60 bucks a piece. Does anybody know if i can these wedges come in 48 and 56 degree lofts. If not 48 what about 50?

They probably should be replaced if you've played with them much. Moreso than with any other club in the bag, playing with a wedge with worn grooves or groove damage will have a big effect on their playability, specifically your ability to spin the ball.

Does your Acuity iron set not have a pitching wedge? That's basically what your 48* is.

As far as your other question, I don't know, but I imagine that you would be able to find a Vokey with the lofts you want.

My irons are 4-9 iron and then the set came with the 48 and 56 degree wedges also.

I"m pretty sure the grind you are talking about only come in the 58, 60, and 64 degree (the ones where they stamp the loft out almost on the toe, versus on the sole).

I have some older Vokeys and just picked up some of the TM RAC wedges that Dick's had on same for 2 for $100 and was very pleased with the sand wedge. It has a little more weight than the vokeys.

All you have to do is click onto Titleist's website and then Vokey's and all the information you want on the special grinds is right there in front of you. If you don't get what your local golf shop has on hand, you won't get them for $60, more like $200.

I might just save over the summer and get some spin milled ones cuz i like the looks of them.

I would probably go for a 48* (PW) a 52* or 54* (GW) and either a 56* or 58* as far as wedges go.
As far as to get the spin milled or original grind I don't know. I suppose you can't really do wrong with either one. I'd probably get the sand wedge Spin Milled but I can't really say for the others. I would definately add all three of those to your bag though. Oh yeah, normally I'd say look for used clubs but not on wedges. Buy em new so that you can get the best results from them.
