I've been paying little attention to the LPGA recently, but what the heck has happened to MW? This is a major for the ladies and MW has just pumped out consecutive 81's.

What happened? It looked like she was getting her act together. Did her parents show up and start mucking around again?

I've been paying little attention to the LPGA recently, but what the heck has happened to MW? This is a major for the ladies and MW has just pumped out consecutive 81's.

I do not know what has happened to her. Yesterday and today, I had to work nights so I could not watch ESPN2. However, I did record both rounds, so I am going to watch them and see what has happened, and what the broadcasters say. Needless, it is shocking to see that she recorded the consecutive 81's. Something is really wrong, that is for sure.

She was +1 after 28 holes then collapsed in the worst of the wind conditions late Friday, +7 the rest of the way.

Her short putting is very tentative right now.

You never want to lose the way Michelle did at Hawaii, 3 shot lead on the back nine of the final round, playing at home, then plunk one in the hazard and lose by several shots to someone playing in your own group, essentially match play. She said all the right things about it being a building block, but as someone who has studied variables and outcomes for 20+ years in Las Vegas, that is generally psychological negative residue, similar to Mickelson at Winged Foot. Every sharp golf matchup bettor I know was salivating to bet against Mickelson in the majors that followed Winged Foot, and several of them said the same thing about betting against Michelle Wie after the SBS collapse. I wish I had followed suit. I did in Mickelson's case.

Regardless, notice that the Wie haters were generally touting Stacy Lewis and Vicky Hurst to outgun Michelle as rookies. That hasn't happened so far so the haters are conveniently content to ignore it. Hurst didn't qualify for Nabisco and Lewis is struggling also, only a few shots ahead of Michelle going into the final round.
