Why on your right? For those who wear a glove, it should be on the leading hand, the left for a right handed player, because you want the to grip the club as lightly as possible with the controlling hand. That is the whole reason for a glove in the first place, to allow a lighter grip while still holding on to the club. Since with a proper golf grip, the left hand is the controlling hand and it has more contact with the club. You want to really try to keep your grip with that hand as light as possible, thus the left hand glove. Wearing it on your right hand really accomplishes nothing.

So no, it isn't just a feel thing. I don't normally wear a glove, but I live and play in a dry climate. I do carry a brand new glove in my bag for when I travel to a more humid area. It's a left hand glove.
