Trahan 12:02 PM Fred Couples, Rocco Mediate, Jack Newman 12:24 PM Soren Kjeldsen, Sean O'Hair, Richard Sterne 12:35 PM Andres Romero, Boo Weekley, Chad Campbell 12:46 PM Ben Crenshaw, Paul Casey, Steve Stricker 12:57 PM Y.E. Choi, Alvaro Quiros, Kenny Perry 1:41 PM Trevor Immelman, Adam Scott, Danny Lee 1:52 PM Tiger Woods, Stewart Cink, Jeev Milkha Singh 2:03 PM Anthony Kim, Rory McIlroy, Ryo Ishikawa

Some of the groups I look forward to watching on Thursday and Friday...

Gary Player, Luke Donald, Stephen Ames Player announced at the beginning of the week that his 52nd Masters would be his last. The perfect send-off for the 73-year-old Player would be if he shot his age during one of first two rounds, but merely breaking 80 would be an achievement. Bernhard Langer, Greg Norman, Lee Westwood The Shark has been the old-timer getting all the buzz going into this week (and rightfully so), but I wouldn't be surprised if two-time green jacket winner Langer managed to post a low score and threaten to be in the thick of things going into the weekend. Westwood has cooled off since his third-place finish at last year's U.S. Open, but he's coming off a solid T11 showing at Augusta in 2008. Vijay Singh, Geoff Ogilvy, Ernie Els Phil Mickelson, Camilo Villegas, Jim Furyk Two threesomes where any of the golfers grouped together can be wearing the green jacket come Sunday evening. Trevor Immelman, Adam Scott, Danny Lee An amateur has never won the Masters, and it has been 76 years since an Amateur has won any major, but there are a lot of people who think that Lee has the ability to change history this week in his last event before turning pro. Immelman is the defending champion; Scott has not had a top-ten finish in a major since the 2006 PGA. Anthony Kim, Rory McIlroy, Ryo Ishikawa Wow. That's the next 20 years of golf right here.

Friday afternoon should end with a bang, too. 16 major championships in the last five groups, Justin Rose's annual second-round letdown at Augusta, Norman and Langer, Camilo Villegas, and the enigma that is Sergio Garcia...all trying to make the cut line.

bullshit coverage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! starts at 4est? WTF?!

it's bullshit because ESPN is only showing f*ckin sportscenter re-runs until coverage starts. they make so much money, why can't they just start coverage from like 10-4. HORSESHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

bullshit coverage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! starts at 4est? WTF?!

It's the same story every year: the Masters always has limited coverage during the first two rounds. My theory is that the membership of Augusta National prefers its course to be broadcast in the ethereal glow of the late afternoon sunlight, so that the vivid colors of the grounds are not washed out in the harsh mid-day brightness overhead.

bullshit coverage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! starts at 4est? WTF?!

Did you expect something different this year?

It's not entirely ESPN's fault... as this is the way "they" want the tournament run... ESPN is a BS network though, just look what they did with hockey just to put more sh*ty basketball games and poker on.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
