hey guys, i switched irons from r7's to 695 cb's. I feel like i am getting too much spin with these new sticks. I suck back my 9 iron around 4 feet with a 3/4 swing. Is this normal? Should i look at getting lower spin shafts?

I just realized that this was put under golf equipment, instead of golf talk where it should be.

i say learn to work with your spin as it can be a huge advantage with scoring. take an extra club and work the ball back to the cup or try some harder balls which will increase your distance as well

Sounds like you're hitting them well, but might want to learn to hit something of a dead hands, no spin shot for the times that you need it. Really not all that difficult to master.

Failing that, if it's really bothering you, I'd consider a lower spin ball before messing with shafts.

FWIW, I've always found that a well struck nine iron spins more than any other club, including a wedge. Maybe I'm just weird though..........

Not weird David. 9-irons impart more spin than any other iron. Its usually the last club most people take true full swings with.
