So just bought a brand new pair of Adidas Tour LTD shoes. They are nice and comfortable. Was curious if anyone had any suggestions about installing softspikes on the shoes. Wondering if I should remove the softspikes prior to taking on the course and coat the screws with vaseline or a soapy solution so that they are easy to remove once they are worn down. My thoughts are to have these shoes for 3-4 seasons and want to make it easy to replace spikes often. Any tricks on how to make sure the spikes are easy to remove once they are worn down?

Thought I remember reading something about coating the inserts with vaseline or some solution to make removal easier once they are worn down. Or is this just not necessary on the newer shoes? Thought I saw some article in GolfDigest or GolfWeek if I remember right about this. Thanks....

before you install them it's not good to put vaseline or whatever on the screws because you'll prolly have them come off while playing shortly there after...to get them off i'd suggest brushing them clean, and soaking the bottoms in soapy water for about 10 minutes...should come out without a trick. i've had my Nike TW SP7's for 3 years now and been through about 6 sets of spikes...love em

do they have the small metal threads? My old nikes were like that and the spikes got "frozen" into the shoe and it took a week of soaking in wd-40 to remove them.

I though they changed to the new design on all newer shoes. Most are just plastic threads now that cant seize.

I'd put some WD40 or something on them. It's a nightmare to get them out if they get frozen in.
