I'm about to tread into the world of eBay. I've never bought anything let alone golf equipment from an auction site. Having heard many tales of counterfeit merchandise (third shift manufacturing etc.) the question remains, am I taking a gamble?

The product I am interested in is a new, uncut Fujikura Fit-on shaft? Your thoughts please.

I bought my Prolaunch red shaft on ebay and I saved about $30. It hits great...so don't burst my bubble. Seriously though...I wouldn't think that a shaft would be counterfeited. I looked at mine and it looked exactly like the one at GolfSmith...in fact I'm going to buy another for my 3 wood. There are a lot of reputable golf shops that market their products on Ebay that are straight up businesses.

Tools of my game:
Burner 09' Driver 10.5 Reg flex
5-pw G10's/ plus Taylormade R7 4 iron
Burner 08' 4 Hybrid

Nothing but bad experiences..

Alot of the fakes are getting HIGH quality these days.. as in alot of people dont even realize they have a fake until they play it next to a real one.

Buy from a reputable dealer with lots of positive transactions. Also, if you think there's a problem, get pictures and put them on a golf site. There are a lot of gurus that can spot fakes where most cannot. Otherwise, just be smart and USUALLY, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

When using eBay and Paypal make sure to use a major credit card as a form of payment. If something is not satisfactory with your purchase and things go bad, you can always rely on your credit card company to resolve the issue. I buy from online vendors and eBay worry free knowing that my credit card will resolve any issues just in case.

I've purchased two driver shafts, both Accra as well as the Tour Concept Shafts I currently have in the bag. Both were from reputable dealers and were brand spanking new. I also saved a bundle on all three items.

IMHO, always do some research on the item you want. Find out what it should look like and where things like serial numbers and such should be located on the shaft. Also, make sure you can actually return the item to the seller. FWIW, if you see "no returns or refunds", then don't make the purchase.

I have 99 ebay transactions and most are buying golf equipment including shafts and I haven't had 1 bad transaction. Have had several hundred off of golf forums and not 1 bad deal to date. You just have to do some homework and know what to look for.

I agree that you can get good equipment on ebay. My whole set is off of ebay and I verified everything as geniune mizuno.

But if it too good to be true, then I would be really skeptical. But I got my putter brand new shipped for 50 dollars and it is real, so go figure.

As long as you buy from someone with a large feedback score in the thousands you will be fine. I have never had a problem on eBay.

i have over 2500 (yes, two thousand five hundred) transactions on ebay and have only had one or two bad experiences. you just have to make sure you are buying from a reputable source. do your research on them. and just because they have good feedback doesnt mean that they dont sell counterfeit merchandise. my advice would be if you are new to ebay and are unsure of who to buy from, buy from a seller like EdwinWattsProOwned, ProShopWarehouse, 3BallsGolf, RockBottomGolf, etc. of course there are MANY other great legitimate sellers on ebay too. you can PM me if you want to. Im on Ebay EVERY day
