I'm kind of in the market for a practice ball. I'm getting really sick of having to hit my balls into the lake. And now I can't hit them into my woods because my neighbor said I'm "disturbing his peace and quiet, and putting others in danger" or some BS like that.

I have a few plastic golf balls left over but they go crazy in the wind and break in half every 15 swings or so.

My swing's in a funk a little and I noticed the Callaway HX Soft-Flite foam balls. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has had experience with these and if so I was wondering if they actually move left and right if you slice/hook the ball. That's really what I need right now.

Thanks in advance.

Pelz makes those "real" practice balls that fade and draw, but only go 40 yards. I dont know what they're called, but they're supposed to feel like real balls when they come off the club face. Anyone had any experience with those? I'd avoid foam balls b/c your fade and draw will become a slice and a hook. Apparently the Pelz balls can hit a car and have no problem at all. Who knows how he does it?!

I have a 12 pack and 30 pack of the Callaway HX soft flite foam balls and they go about 60% I would say distance wise and do simulate real ball flight as long as it isn't incredibly windy outside. I spent about $28 on them and it beats paying $10 every time at the range. I would get you a 12 pack and test them out and maybe get more if you like them.

I have those Pelz type balls. They're okay, but the distances are bunk and the ball flight is so so. A half swing, because it doesn't spin as much, goes farther than a full swing, which balloons.

I recommend the Birdie Ball a bit more.

I have both the Callaway foam balls and the Birdieballs.

The foam balls will fly away if you take a normal swing and are sensitive to wind, but I use them to practice mid-short range chipping.

The birdieballs give pretty good feedback with regards to hooking and fading, and make a cool sound when you hit'em square. The go about 30-40 yards.
