Getting rid of the fluff. Has it helped anyone?

I've decided to cut down on the clubs im carrying in my bag. Some I hit poorly and have no consistency with, others I barely use, so im thinning it out, because I end up spending more time deciding what clubs to use, than I do thinking about making the most out of my shot.

Im going with a driver, 3&7 wood, 4 hybrid, 6,7,9 irons, PW, SW and a putter

The biggest changes is dropping the 52* wedge, the 3 hybrid and 5&8 irons, and adding in a 7 wood.

I still plan on practicing daily with all the clubs, and this isnt a permanent change, more of me trying to simplify club selection for myself until I get use to managing my shots, and more consistent with the clubs ive taken out.

Has anyone else had any luck doing this? Im sure some have tried it. I did a search, but couldnt quite find what I was looking for.

I had planned to at least start the season with just 10 clubs but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Just today i took out my 7 wood, since i dont use it that much only have driver, 3 wood, hybrid and 5-LW.
