My stiff shafted R360xd Ti is completely and utterly useless, and was thinking about a used r7 quad for some adjustability. Does the MWT actually make much of a difference? As I stated, my current 360 has a stiff shaft, and I do nothing but hook unless I open the club face slightly, then I have the probably the worst slice in the history of the game. Do you think these adjustable weights would allow me to tweak my trajectory a bit? There are no golf swing measuring devices anywhere near where I live to test anything out before buying.

Might as well mention....I shot a 72 yesterday....on a par 33 9-hole, lol. Ten lost balls, 9 to the hook, and one slicer.......

No the MWT will not make a big enough difference to cure a hook bad enough that you are loosing golf balls. I hit an r7 quad for a long time and loved it. I would say the weights arranged correctly could affect the ball flight 3 - 8 yards left to right, i could tell a bigger difference in high and low ball flight. Keep in mind i ordered the heavier weight set for the driver.

I hit the smaller bertha pretty straight with a slight draw, it has a regular flex shaft. When I drop the club and point it straight (square with my shoulders) out after my shot, it is usually pointing to where the ball landed. I can also hit the TM dead straight if I smash the crap out of it, but that confuses me more. I thought too stiff a shaft is supposed to emphasize a slice and not a hook? I should have asked about the r7 quad in relation to my little bertha I suppose. I was just wondering if the mwt was just a gimmick or not.

You should get a lesson and fix your golf swing, its probably all over the place out of plane and not in good tempo. Also the shaft is probably too stiff considering your score on a 9 hole round.

I agree that the MWT doesn't really "fix" anything. It seems to provide enough adjustability to influence a tendency, if that makes sense.

Having said that, I've played mine for about 4 years now and can honestly say that I have no desire to even consider a replacement. Great club for me. Prices being what they are these days for the Quad's, I'd highly recommend giving one a try, you can't hardly go wrong!

I agree. I really think TM did not intend for MWT to be an aid for high handicappers in correcting their slices or hooks.; it was geared torwards lower handicappers who wanted to specifically get something out of their club.

I like to play a draw but am worried about overcooking it. So, I have the Tour Burner TP with 2* open face. When I got the R7 Limited and put the 16g weight in the toe to emulate this.

hmmm, double posted for some reason. As for my high scoring 9'er, I usually hit a 41 on that course but stick with the smaller driver.

If you mean by getting fitted, the shop owner measuring from my hand to the ground, then they are fitted. With no available device for measuring swing speed etc, that's about it. If my swing was "all over the place", then I don't think I would be as consistent with the bertha as I am. As for the lessons, I'd love to take some, too bad the only advertised instructor won't come down unless I compile a class of 20 students to "make it worth the trip".

(Edit) Anyway, I more or less wanted to know if the MWT was a sales gimmick or if it actually does allow for "slight" trajectory changes, which has been answered, thanks.

    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
    • Day 1 - 2025-12-20 Starting a new streak, of at least 1. With rain dumping for the next week in the north bay area, I'll be a lot of outdoor net work and maybe some putting. About 10 minutes of 7 iron work, focused on the usuals: weight transfer, keeping hands behind me. I'll have more time in the coming days for video review and maybe some Hack Motion.
