I'm in the market for a classic driver, the Great Big Bertha Warbird. I've been keeping close tabs on eBay for about a week and have seen quite a few go through.

I've noticed that some of the clubs say "Ruger" just about "Titanium" on the underside of the club, and others do not. Other than that word, Ruger and non-Ruger clubs look the exact same (to me).

I saw on this site a list of the lofts available for the Great Big Bertha Warbird series, and I've noticed that some Ruger clubs have lofts not on that list (such as 9*). That's the only difference I've been able to tell so far. (Both have the loft I'm looking for.)

* What does "Ruger" imply?
* Is there any noticeable difference between the two types of club?
* If so, does anyone have any experiences/preferences between them?

I'm curious as to whether I should try to get a Ruger or non-Ruger, or if I should just make my purchase completely independently of it. (I'm practically brand new to golf club research, so I don't yet have a feel for such things.)

Thanks.

Cast titanium golf head made by Ruger (yes the gun manufacturer).

Nice fine, moparman. So Callaway made some of the GBB Warbirds normally and also commissioned Ruger to make some of them?

Is there any difference between the ones made by Ruger and the ones made normally other than just the branding?

@RocketSauce
If you did so very recently, I likely had it on my watch list at some point. :P

    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
    • Day 1 - 2025-12-20 Starting a new streak, of at least 1. With rain dumping for the next week in the north bay area, I'll be a lot of outdoor net work and maybe some putting. About 10 minutes of 7 iron work, focused on the usuals: weight transfer, keeping hands behind me. I'll have more time in the coming days for video review and maybe some Hack Motion.
