Had my second 1 hour lesson last night. (Lesson 1 recap - grip, stance, 1/2 swing) and we worked on my back swing and downswing through just before impact (no real turning the wrist or follow through yet - next week). I was very happy when my pro told me that my tempo was great, medium speed and very natural, but the glee only lasted until he asked me if I was swinging a golf club or chopping wood.

Apparently my back swing is OK but my downswing almost comes straight down. That would explain why I am hitting behind the ball a bit and digging a huge hole (not a divot a giant sink hole) just behind my ball. we worked on flattening out my downswing, which is now very unnatural feeling, but wow... when I did contact the ball well what a difference (30 yards further and straight )

I have a lot to work on before my next lesson... but taking them was the best golf decision I ever made.

TAKE A LESSON PEOPLE

To be continued...
