I'm most likely getting a new club, and I don't like my off-brand driver anymore, because of several problems. It's too heavy, launches low, (10.5, I'd like a little higher), and 460cc's is wayy too much for me. I went to my driving range's pro shop, and the power went out due to a severe storm, so me and the worker there went to the back, and there I found all of their used clubs. I asked him about them, and the prices were incredible. 100$ for a Taylormade Burner with a upgraded shaft. (I couldn't use it, but still, great price.)

So I need to make a decision. They have a large variety of clubs, great prices. For someone like a 14 year old, with a pretty slow swing speed, and amateur technique, what kind of driver would be best?

I've personally had my eye on a graphite Burner (14.0 launch) and regular flex probably.

Or maybe, should I just not get a driver? Irons are too expensive, so that's not really an option. So wedges, putters, and hybrids are probably the only other clubs that are options.

Last year I played with a friend for the first time in about a year.

He was hitting most fairways and hitting it WAY longer than he ever had before.

When I asked him about it, he gave me a card for a club fitter he used.

I called the guy and made an appointment. We did the fitting on his Doppler Launch monitor.

I hit 10 drives with my own driver. Then he looked at the numbers spin rate, side spin, back spin, height of shot, amount off center, etc.

He selected 3 drivers for me to try. The 2nd one turned out to be the best for me.

My drives went from an average of 218 to 238, with my longest going to 270, which was great for me.

I've hit FAR more fairways so far this year, and my misses aren't as far into the woods as they used to be. THAT is my favorite result.
