Just switched to an FT-i a few rounds ago. I

I've noticed the same thing too.

I've also found that I get a bit more distance if i catch it on the toe-side of center. I'm sure I could find more distance using something else, but I'm not usually the short one in the foursome, and its a lot easier hitting out of the fairway.
