So recently I have moved from the stock regular flex shaft in my Taylormade R7 Superquad driver to a stiffer Aldila shaft. However my driver has a loft of 10.5 and I am getting incredibly high ball flight, something that I really am not enjoying. So I have been wondering if it is possible to buy a new driver head but keep the shaft, since I just bought it and all..

Also I am interested in the Titleist 909 series, but I am afraid that they may be a little too advanced for me. My other option would be the Taylormade R9, but that seems to be a far more expensive option at the time.

I would like a little more distance out of my driver and I would love it if someone with experience with the 909 series could help explain the differences between the 3 clubs.

I have never hit a TaylorMade Driver. No shops around here sell TM, but I can tell you the 909D2 is spectacular. I have a 10* and I get a consistent, penetrating ballflight (on the good hits of course, im not kidding myself, lol), and long drives with a slight draw, but not even enough of one to worry about having to play off it all the time.

I went through three drivers before I found this one, A Nike Sumo2 5900, Ping Rapture, and this, I would never go back.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

Not to be rude, because we have similar handicaps, but you dont feel that the club is too difficult to hit solidly? I have heard it is for single-digit handicaps and I dont want to make this game any harder than it is, but if there is any chance it could help my game I would be very interested in checking it out.

So I have been wondering if it is possible to buy a new driver head but keep the shaft, since I just bought it and all...

Manufacturer's club heads (components) are not available to the public; i.e. you cannot buy a TM head or a Titelist head, etc.

There are other, reputable component manufacturer's out there that sell quality component parts: Golfsmith, Golfworks, Tom Wishon, Heriko (Dynacraft). I buy my Snake Eyes components from Golfsmith and have built many Dynacraft, Golfworks and Wishon clubs for friends, family and others.
I make all my own clubs:
Driver: Snake Eyes Python XLD | | 3-Wood: Snake Eyes Python XL Faiway, 15*  | | Snake Eyes HT Iron Set, 3-, 4-Utility, 5-, 6-Hybrid, 7-PW Cavity Back | | Golfsmith G-40 Wedges, 52, 56, 60 | | Distance Master DM-AS2 Putter | |Ball? The last one I found ... that... was YOURS!!
