I currently have a Cleveland 588 DSG 54 degree as well as a Cleveland 588 DSG 60 degree.

The 54 degree goes about 100 yards for me. The 60 degree goes about 65 yards.

I am thinking about buying a 56 or 58 degree 588 DSG(to match my set) and getting it bent to 57 degrees so that I can get rid of this huge yardage gap between my other two wedges. I notice myself missing alot of greens from 80 yards away.

Does the distance gap for these two clubs sound normal or is there possibly something I'm doing that is creating this gap? The thing that concerns me is that 3 degrees is not a big distance gap. I just can't see a 3 degree difference making the ball go 18 yards shorter(1/2 the distance gap). If this will cover my gap, is it even worth getting it bent 1 degree?

With the same swing, the 57˚ should be good for you for the 80 yard range. You should be able to adapt it to fit your needs.

Also, if you bend the 56 up to 57 you'll also gain 1 degree of bounce (and if you bend the 58 down you'll lose 1 degree of bounce).

My 54 degree has 12 degrees of bounce and it works good for me. I'm not sure what the bounce is on my 60 degree LW, I bought it used, I don't notice any difference between the two divot wise.

How much bounce should I get for my 56/58(bent to 57)?

I guess I'm not sure what the rule of thumb is here, should i buy something with close to the same amount of bounce, more, less?

General rules of thumb -
1. If the course is hard/dry use less bounce. If it's wet/soft use more bounce (to keep from digging too much)
2. if you're a 'digger' get a higher bounce. If you're a slider go with less bounce. If you're neither get a mid-bounce.
3. Soft sand = use a sand wedge with more bounce. Hard pebble-like sand, less bounce.

I like to vary my wedge bounces with lofts (see sig) it allows me a lot of options with shots from 100 and in.

I'll go with mid bounce, thanks.
