Can anyone help me out here? I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but i am topping my hybrids way too much ~30% of the time. If I top it it will go straight but obviously not very far. I have tried moving the ball back in my stance, forward off the left heel, etc. If I make good contact they just take off but those flubs are really killing my scores.

I don't have a problem topping my driver off the tee or my irons.

Hit down on the ball with a hybrid, as you would a seven iron. If you haven't had your hybrids fit to you, might consider that.

Sounds like your doing what I was doing when I first got my hybrid. My guess is your probably treating it like a wood rather than an iron. To me hybrids (at least the one I have) look more like woods than irons, so naturally you want to hit it like one and try and sweep it. Once I started swinging down on it and swinging easy now I can finally hit 225 yard stingers with it. Took me a few weeks to get used to it though.

Yeah, I agree, but the even bigger key to me is the bolded part, swinging easy. You NEED to swing smooth with hybrids, they actually became tough to hit (for me at least) when I'm overswinging, trying to "crush it." When I swing it similar to a 5 or 7 iron, swinging smooth, and with a little divot, is when I seemingly get my best result.

100% agree with this and the previous advice to hit it like a 7-iron.
