So I've somewhat narrowed down the selections some what but weren't able to try out some of the older clubs. Listed below are in order of which ones I think I would hit easier which their respective price. I can only hit these in hitting bays at stores so not sure how difficult they are to hit on real grass.

Wilson Ci7(4-GW) - $315
Callaway X-22 Tours(4-PW) - $525
Mizuno MP-57(3-PW) - $465
*Nike Pro Combo Forged Tour(3-PW) - $220

I could not find the Nike's to try out. Anyone play these and can give some feedback? Like what clubs they were using prior to and how their ballstriking is. My ballstriking as of late has improved but not sure if its to the point of using blades yet.

Side note: Can't hit my old Ping Eye2's for the life of me...

i find them super easy to hit, like BUTTA when you hit them on the screws
i REALLY like the combo idea..wonder why they don't offer this w all the VR series

think about it...3-4 full cavity VR's, 5-7 the split cavity VR's, 8-PW the TW blades
sorry...just dreamin ;)

i would 100% recommend these to you...dont be afraid of the blades..at address they look the same as the 3-7

just my .02 though dude
good luck w your choice

The Pro Combo Tours was taken by someone else so I'm SOL on those irons. Knew they were too good of a deal.

Will be testing the Adams Tight Lies GT Tour and Nike CCi cast irons in regular flex on the course. Hopefully I can hit either of them so I can play while I decide on my new set of irons.

I bought mine new last year and got them fitted 4-pw for 695.

fantastic deal and worth every penny.

I just got a brand new set of Macgregor MT Pro CM(combo) irons in the mail today. I will be using them later today. 3-6 cavity back, 7-pw muscleback. Brand spanking new shipped to my door in 2 days. $299 I am coming from 13 year old DCI gold oversize + irons. Tomorrow I will go get fitted for lie angles on these clubs. I just want to get out and play them!

Played 9 tonight with the new sticks. They are easy peasy to hit. Even the butter knife 3 iron with no offset whatsoever. They feel so nice. Very forgiving throughout the set.

Will look around for the MacGregor MT Pro CM to see if I can at least hit them in a bay.

Adding to the list of irons considered are:

Nike CCi Forged (3-PW) - $300
Adams Idea Pro Gold (5-PW) - $300

Anyone know the difference between the "Adams Idea Pro" and "Adams Idea Pro Gold" iron sets?

The Idea Pro Gold looks better but wonder if there was a significant improvement in performance.

I remember hitting the MP-57's pretty well a year ago when I tried them but after hitting the MP-52's so poorly compared to the others, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go Mizuno.

Haven't really looked into Cobra/Cleveland. I'm just looking at the ones with good pricing and good reviews.

personally, if i HAD to choose from the 4 sets you listed, i would pick the Wilson Ci7's. they are great irons and are VERY long. 2nd choice would be the MP-57's. I love the design of the Ci7's and when I demo'd them they felt great and i hit them about a club longer than any other set I had demo'd

Have you tried the X-22 Tours? I love the look of the Ci7's and hate the look of the X-22 Tours. X-22 Tours I've hit recently and Ci7's I hit last year so I can't really compare too well. If the Ci7's hit similar to the X-22 Tours then I would definitely go with the Ci7's. Also the TT shafts that come in Ci7's, are they high trajectory shafts? I need a shaft that keeps the flight down since I already hit it high.

i have, but only into a net so I cant really compare them honestly. I played a few rounds with the Ci7's. GREAT irons.
