Was playing a practice round yesterday at a course I have a net team best ball tourney coming up at next week. I'm a 9.5 index and generally shoot in the low 80's in Phil Mickelson style (bogeys, doubles, pars, and birdies all over the sheet). Anyway, things were clicking and I had 14 pars, 3 doubles, and a birdie for 77.

I think part of it was a had a little head cold and you start to zone out a bit, which is actually good for not over thinking. But some of it came down to just some good course management. There is this par 5 there that has water thst starts about 210 yards out down the right side and a creek/rock wall that borders the front of the green. Usually I hit driver, but then it's always dicey to got for it because of the creek. This time I hit my hybrid - takes the water out of play, then a smooth 5-iron and set the ball at 100 yards. 3/4 wedge and putt for my only birdie of the day.
