My eyes are bad... so I wear glasses. When I golf though... it's a pain. I often lose balls after hitting them because the view of the ball sails over the upper rim. In addition, since they are not sporty glasses, they tend to drift down my nose. I like my glasses though.

I can't do contacts (just don't work for my eyes) and although those Ambervision glasses (infomercial I've bet some of you have seen) would work... although I'm not into style that much... I don't think I could bear wearing them.

So sunglasses or new glasses. They would need to be prescription, of course, but... anybody out there use transitions lenses on the course? Any luck with those bands which wrap the glasses around your head so they don't fall down? Any comments welcome!

Oh... I don't want to do laser correction. I know it's great but... I'll admit it... eye surgery freaks me out.

Have you completely ruled out contacts? They're hard to get used to at first but in the end its soooooooo worth it. Greatest thing of my entire life was getting contacts, I hated wearing glasses, especially slipping down my face and having to push them back up and not being able to see outside of the frames. I'd highly recommend them, but just like golf, you're going to need to stick to them, especially in the beginning.

Oakley Rx all the way. I've heard it a million times from others, "I'll never spend that much money on sunglasses", but I'm tellin ya, you cant go wrong with them, and they will last you for a VERY long time. I spend $350 on a pair of Oakley Juilet Ducati's back in '04 or '05, and they still look like they're brand new. I'm convinced the things are indestructable. I'm not saying to spend $350, but you can find some really nice Rx Flat Jackets or Half Jackets for less than $200.

Nobody is more squeamish about my eyes, than I was.

Unfortunately prescription oakleys couldn't be made for the level of vision defect I have. So I sucked it up, and got contact lenses. In the early days with gas permeable it was terrible, and I can't tell you it worked well for me.....but nowadays with periodically disposable soft lenses it's really okay.

So now I'm on monthly disposable soft lenses, and oakley half jackets (and occasionally some old M-frames). Perfect.

I have the same problems. I hate eyeglasses. They always get dirty and I always have to clean them, only to get dirty and smudgy five minutes later. And I'm tired of having to carry the wipes, and I lose them a lot.

I will do laser correction, but after the army checkup. Maybe I'll get an exemption for bad eyesight. Just maybe. (or for my Crohn's disease, I hope).

Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

    • They sure do. 158 with an 8 iron is on the high end for me
    • Went back to controlling my knees. That part was getting a bit sloppy when I worked on my backswing. Right hip didn't slide or gain internal rotation. I would just rotate back and around and the left knee would be in a bad spot. Really focusing now on keeping my left knee very stable and straighter in the backswing. I can't go back to the old pattern of overturning the hips. I was returning to my old pattern to time my downswing. Turn forever.  Left knee controls both knees and hips, acting as an anchor. Feel like it straightens a bit.   Hinge sooner and faster. Not in a way that sends the hands out and flips the club over. I still noticed when the hands get to A2.5, the hands would want to flip over and flatten the club out a ton.  Still trying to figure out how to roll the forearms a bit open and not just roll the club inside a ton.  Figure out the timing to get the hands down. Still getting a bit of right elbow collapsing in the downswing because the arms are too high when I turn. Everything is happening sooner now. If the hips are controlled, the backswing is shortened. Because it is shortened I don't know when to get the hands down and I just turn because the downswing is a go.  Very slow (50%) swings are decent.
    • Distances look fine, no?
    • Day 207-12 Wider backswing and arm reconnecting in downswing. Did a much better job with proper wrist movements through downswing today.
