Have only ever hit Sonartec fairway woods at the range, so I've got no real world experience with them. From what I remember, they were very solid, but not very forgiving. Ball went far with a pure swing though.

And to answer your off-topic question... yeah, um... look at my sig block. I believe in going with what works for you, regardless of brand.

..... Sonartec has a wonderful reputation with the Pro's and since I'm not a Pro, I've had better luck with a few other hybrids ... in this case, Tour Edge has worked for me ....

That said, always buy and play what "you" like ... the Cleveland Halo is nice, Cobra make a strong one, Adams has come out with some good ones, Nickent, etc, etc .... you won't know til' you get your hands around them. I think alot of the players get a little confused on the hybrid connection ... depending on the manufacturer and your current ability, usually a 21° or even a 24° hybrid will do the work of a 3 wood, it all depends .... I agree with Ragontona - if it works for you, then play 5 different manufacturers if need be ..
Whats in the bag.?

Driver: Tour Edge 10* Jmax 460 Carbon with the Fuji Vista Pro 50 shaft/and, the Burrows 10.5* MAC 421cc with the Grafalloy Pro Launch 55 shaft.
Woods: only one left after switching to hybrids - Adams ST #7 22*.
Hybrids: Tour Edge 20*, 24*, 30*, 36*, 41* and the 50* Attack Wedge...

cantputt,

Sonartec makes the best fairway metals in the business. I use an SS-07, and I could literally play any model on the market right now. They are solid and extremely accurate. Sonartec is also one of the few companies to address players individual needs. They make shallow, deep, and mid faced fairway metals so players can pick the model that suits their needs best. The SS-07 was an outstanding model which allowed clubfitters to bend for loft, lie, and face angle along with being sold head only so clubfitters and customers didn't need to pay for useless shafts. They have succumbed to tour tee up money which is why their presence has faded a bit on tour. However, back in the years when manufacturerers weren't so obsessed with Darrel Survery counts, Sonartec often lead the fairway wood counts. They're always in demand, so resale value is extremely high. Sonartec is very heavy into research, testing, and design. It takes them a while to introduce products. However, when they do, they're near perfect. Next time you're in the shop, take a look at the T-35 wedge they just introduced as well, to me, it's the best on the market.

I'm a very big fan of Sonartec clubs and use their fairway woods, hybrids and wedges. Being very happy with their products is why I wanted to become a certified clubfitter for them.

As for as your other question, use what works :)

    • Mostly pull cuts to slices. Some random pull draw/hooks pending of I hit the toe.
    • What's the rest of that story? Where was the ball going?
    • The criticisms are starting already 🤣 U.S. Open pro criticizes Shinnecock green conditions: 'Bumpy' After playing his first practice round at the 2026 U.S. Open, Michael Kim offered a less-than-glowing review of Shinnecock's "bumpy" greens.   The sand, I don't care about that. If the greens didn't come back as well for latest aerification, that would be a bit of a blunder on Shinnecock I think.
    • Well, if your frame of reference spins twice during the swing, then Bryson's ab/adduction is more like 780 degrees so there! (Yes I'm being silly, but not sure it's any sillier than what your pal Andy is doing...)
    • Update: Brandon Sorsby has decided to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. He will not play for Texas Tech in the upcoming season.  From my perspective, I think he did the right thing. I hope he gets the correct help for his gambling addiction. I say the right thing, because I would be worried that the stress from all of this now and throughout the entire year would not be beneficial towards his mental health.  If an NFL team picks him up, then there really isn't any pressure for him to play immediately. He can work on himself and his game for the NFL.  From Texas Tech,  "Texas Tech will continue to provide the support and recovery resources Brendan requires on this journey. Furthermore, Texas Tech will not seek return of any amounts already paid to Brendan through his NIL agreements with the University," Campbell wrote. "We wish our best to Brendan, and we offer our prayers to him and his family as he chases his dreams at the next level. This has been an unbelievably painful experience for us all, but I know that his true, underlying character and lessons learned through this experience will ultimately bring him great success on the field of play and in life." Which, I also the right thing to do.
