Best score and no more chunking!!

I shot my best score of 85 yesterday and had 3 birdies and did not chunk any shots! I have been getting very frustrated over the past few weeks over hitting everything but driver and putter fat.

My buddy and I played 2 days ago and I was really cussing my game and just looked at me and laughed and said, "I know what's wrong and can tell you or let you figure it out". I told him to tell me or I'd kill him. He told me I was getting too footsy as I was rolling my left heel over and sometimes lifting it all the way off the ground on the backswing.

That was it? You gotta be kiddin me! Instantly I stopped chunking and began hitting perfectly crisp shots again. I also began using my irons for chipping instead of just the wedges. Yesterday I used mostly the PW but also used the 8 and 9 on longer uphill greens when I was off the fringe. I never failed to get up and down and came with in 2 inches for Eagle on a par 5 with chip with PW.

I remember when and why I began chunking shots. I was watching a Jack Nicklaus thing on GC where he was talking about using good footwork. I guess I overdid it!

Golf is fun again and my new goal of breaking 80 is very much in reach.

I am absolutely in love with the Speedline 3w. It hits so easy. I have been able to reach greens from 230-250. It can cut thru the rough very nicely and sound good hitting hitting a ProV1 or BlackMax. You should demo one if you get the chance.
