I was really looking forward to finally visiting the Golfdom store in King of Prussia, PA. I had my wife stop in three years ago to pick up a 50 degree Vokey wedge, but I had never actually been in the store. They had signed me up (through my wife) for their VIG program, so I kept getting emails on specials, etc. Online, their golf selection (from a brand perspective) looked great.

The store was flat out lousy

I wasn't sure if they were waiting for a shipment or if they were waiting to go belly-up. The store had so many holes - apparel, clubs, you name it. Stuff was organized with no rhyme or reason. I swear the # of Adidas climacool shirts I have would put this store's assortment to shame. Salespeople were totally disinterested and brain dead. The Dick's near my house, and just regular pro shops, have a wider selection of merchandise. I was looking for a J. Lindeberg belt, and the guy tells me that they are not carrying JL "this year". I said that the online catalog lists that it's a brand that the KOP store carries, and he just nodded

I'm curious if anyone else has visited this dump of a store? How about the Tyson's Corner (VA) store? Today's experience really made me rant - was almost tempted to head to Martin's in Myrtle Beach (14 hour ride)

I was at the KOP Golfdom a few months back, and encountered the same thing. One of the sales person said that they were only carrying half their inventory for this season. No idea what's going to happen for them next year.

If you had been to the store a year or maybe 18 months ago you would have had a different experience. Lots of merchandise , great selection of high end clothing and shoes.
It's now just a shell, big shame as it was a great alternative to golf galaxy.

I love that store it is the best store ever. Golfing stuff as far as the eye can see...... but across the street from it there is a dump golf store. There were employees hawking us the whole time. It was like they thought we were gonna stuff a club down our pants and walk out with it or something crazy like that......

I assume you're talking about the Tyson's Corner store? If so, I'm wondering if the two stores are under different ownership...maybe explains how the two locations can be night and day...

I also was at the KOP store in August and laughed. Sales rep said it was becasue of the economy that they didnt want a store full of this years equipment when the new stuff was coming out. tried to sell me x22 irons for $899 got them on 3balls for 490.00 brand new...

You probably won't be surprised that the KofP store is closing. Some decent random deals left but there's not much merchandise left....they're even selling the store fixtures. I picked up a brand new 4 iron to go with my MX-200 set..... thay had lots of random 3's & 4's for $20.

Good riddance!
