Last weekend I went on an outing with 10 other guys and we played 5 rounds in 3 days. One of the things that made it more fun were the side games we had going. Two of the rounds were traditional 4 man scrambles. One we just did a regular skins game and closest to the pin.

The other two we played a game called Pink Ball. There were three foresomes and each group was given one sleeve of pink balls. The rules are pretty simple. It is played as a regular stroke play round. The order for the ball is picked on the first hole. This does not change at all during play. Each player takes a turn with the pink ball as their actual ball on the hole. They play the entire hole with the ball. Their score counts as both the score of the pink ball and as their individual score as well. At the end of the round, the team with the lowest score and at least one ball left wins. If you lose all three, you are eliminated. You should see the guys following that ball when you are down to the last one or two. This could be done with multiple groups or with two man teams amongst a foursome.

After I retired at 53, I moved to a golf community and played in a tour. every day except Sat and Sun. It was a blast and I somehow won the sandbagger award every year but one. Finally took my wife out west full-timing in an RV and we spent our summers in Thayne, Wy. at the Starr Valley Ranch and did the same thing up there. It is beautiful up there in the mts.

Golf is not a game, it's a way of life!
