I really liked the DT Solo balls after playing a few that I found. I decided to purchase 120 of them last spring and I am down to my last handfull.

Can anyone help me find a replacement with the same characteristics as the DT SoLo ? I have played a few NXT's and those seem pretty close.

What do you think?

The DT Carry is pretty much the same ball... the DT Roll is similar as well, but with a lower ball flight.

I would say the Topflite D2 Feel would be the best replacement and best deal though.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

I tried the D2 feel and didn't really like those.

Here is what I have tried:

D2 feel - it was OK but I found the DT Solo after playing the D2's and they felt better to me.

E6+ - had 3 balls, first eagle with one ball, it was retired, lost the others to quickly to evaluate.

NXT - mix of tour and extreme, found balls, could not really tell a difference, I liked them also.

I think I will get a dozen of the NXT Tour, NXT Extreme, E6+, and maybe DT Rolls.

The Titleist DT Carry and DT Roll would be a good replacement.

Its been a while since I've hit a SoLo, but don't remember much I liked about them. The NXT tour is a good performing, durable, mid-priced ball that has been a staple in my bag for quite some time.

Playing regularly again after a few years off. Started playing in 1999.

The DT Solo are available from lostgolfballs. They are an ebay seller and have their own website. Knetgolf out of Canada may have them, too.

If you don't want to go the used ball route, the Titleist Gran Z is the official replacement for the DT Solo.

If you can't find them, I may still have a few dozen lying around the house. Shoot me a PM and I can sell you what I have.

And THAT's what we needed to hear! Thanks!!

Lostgolfballs.com is out of stock on the DT Solo.

I ordered 12 each: NXT Tour, NXT Extreme, DT Roll, E6+

I still like going the lostgolfballs route for now... though I don't loose balls nearly as often as I did last year I would rather keep the pace of play and not search for a ball more then a minute or so. At $1.00 to $1.50 per ball I don't worry about it.

maybe in another year or two that will end !

Grand Z.... The Titleist site does not show them. The DT carry is a high flight ball with 252 dimples. The roll is a 392 ball, same as a solo, but doesn't have the feel of a solo.

Love the solo. I still buy them in the big used 50 packs for about $18 and use them a lot in the Winter. I may not be able to put a fire out with them (stop, drop, roll), but they don't spin off the green on long approach shots. That said, can be tough to chip with them.

http://www.lostgolfballs.com/Titleis...FR9N5Qodj0wBbw You can pick them up for as little as $10 a dozen. I know at one point both Golfsmith and Golf Galaxy had them.

Play 18 today and started the day with a ProV1 for the first 9 holes... It was shorter for me by a club length. I guess I don't have the swing speed to compress them.

On the back 9 I tried the one NXT Extreme I had in my bag... Distance came back and the feel was better to me then the ProV1.

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
