Because I would forget my head if it weren't attached, I have a routine everytime I leave my house, car, fitting room, hotel room, finish a hole, etc.

I always check "keys.. wallet.. phone.. wedding ring.. sunglasses." I always double-check that I didn't leave something, including counting my clubs after every hole. Otherwise, I will leave something. You may look funny doing it, but I've saved myself quite a few $$ by double-checking!!
Cheers!

I was just at the club with Buffy, Todd and Biff and a NON CLUB MEMBER was trying gain access to the club house. Well, you can imagine the horror that ensued. Some members fainted, others just shrieked in horror. Daddy and I walked up to the commoner and demanded that he leave at once but he just scoffed. Security finally arrived , after what seemed an eternity, and escorted the offender off of the property. Needless to say, it's been the main topic of conversation in the club house since the nasty incident. Some members have vowed never to return and others are just nervous but most have sought out the aid of a good therapist.

Well great news!!
Got a phone call from the club pro on Sunday. Somebody found my club but didn't get a chance to hand it in straight away because he was flying out to America the day after the competition. He rang in to say that he had the club and would be visiting the course again today and would hand it over then!
I owe that man a beer or three!!

Thankfully I have never done it (knocking on wood), But my wife has twice... 1st time - I was pissed ... yelled and made her cry ... ruined my good round and after some appoligizing by me ... we both determined she would be much more careful in the future...

2nd time - only about a week later she did it again and I noticed while counting her clubs at home ... I again got pissed, she again cried ... and it hasn't happened again since (more knocking on wood).

I am pretty careful and would be suprised if it happened to me... I suspect my wife will misplace another one before the end of next season or so... sometimes having OCD (like myself) is a good thing.

I have left behind my Vokey wedge on the fringe of a green. The moment I realized it was missing was of course on the next hole when I needed it to get up and down into the green. As I looked back towards the group at the tee box behind us, one of their carts was speeding towards me and the guy gave me my wedge just in time for me to make my shot and not slow down play. :)

Well great news!!

Lucky guy! And yes, you owe him a beer for sure.

I left my 6 iron next to a fairway bunker before and it wasn't brought in.

Luckily the club pro does cobra custom fitting and gave me one of his spare 6 irons for free. 80 pounds for a club? wow hard luck. edit

I lost a putter the same way. The worst thing is, I did not lose it myself. I had a friend who was new to golf and he asked if he could borrow my bag. I made the mistake and said OK. When I went there next time (we leave the bags at the club's warehouse, there's a place specially designed for keeping member's bags) I found the putter was missing. Needless to say, calling my friend, asking around the course, etc.. resulted in nothing.

Thankfully it wasn't even a good putter and I didn't like it anyway. But I learned it the hard way: DO NOT GIVE YOUR STUFF TO OTHERS!

We had been playing behind a threesome who was as slow as a fivesome. When we got to the green on the last hole a wedge was laying there, we were so aggravated at them we left it rather than turn it in. As we parked the cart one of the threesome asked us if we had seen it, we told him it was on the green and watched him head off toward the green walking with a cane; felt like an ass.

As soon as you saw the cane you should have stopped whatever you were doing and told the guy you would go get it. Man, I know these sorts of things can be frustrating, but karma is karma. "Do unto others..." NO exception is made for people who annoy or aggravate you.

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
