Holy s##t, I shot 79 today at what ended up being a terrible course that I had never played before but I didn't hit the ball very good with the driver. So, I just taped myself in the backyard hitting a plastic ball with the driver and i now know what I need to work on. I am making a lateral move backwards on the backswing and compensating for it on the downswing which has got to make it really hard to make consistent contact. If you have never taped yourself, you probably need to, and you might not like what you see.
