Anyone have any experience with these? I've tried the 52s and 62s. Fair to say the 58s fall somewhere between the two in the forgiveness/workability continuum?

I have hit them and love them. Best cavity backs EVER!!!! I am going friday to get fitted for a set of pw-7 mp-68s and 6-3 mp-58s. The 58s are absolubtely INCREDIBLE!

Thanks for the feedback. Any reason you went with the 58/68 combo as opposed to 58/62? In other words, is there some kind of commonality between them that you wouldn't get with the 58/62s? I'm thinking of similarly splitting a set, but think the 68s might be a little too much club for me.

I have the 67s and hit the short irons VERY well. I just lacked the ability to bit the long and mid irons very well consistently. I have worn out the short irons in the 67s so using them and the 58s is not really an option. As to why I'm getting a blended set of blades and cavity backs: I find the blades more workable and as a general rule the shorter the iron the more you have to move the ball to get to the pin. This combined with the fact that they have the best feel ever and I'm set on blades in the short irons. I liked the 58s over the 62s because I couldn't find a difference in workability or feel and in that case I'll take the extra forgiveness. Also I didn't get fitted(so I sent get the clubs yet) I was supposed to get fitted on Friday for them but my aunt had to go to the hospital and is now on her deathbed I believe. To everyone please keep her in your prayers. Sorry if I hijacked the thread. If you have Any more questions on mizuno mp series clubs let me know and I'll answer them to the best of my abilities. I have the 67s and I hit the

I haven't hit the 67s/68s yet. Big difference between those and the 58s/62s?

Also, I've read that the 58s (because the titanium insert) don't offer the same mizuno "feel" on shots struck "pure" as the 62s/67s/68s. Do you agree?

I don't know about the 58's, but I have the MX950s, and these are AWESOME, Just AWESOME! Best feeling ever!

I dont think so. They felt the mayb a bit different but a very solid feel and sound. Moreso than my TMs...........

    • Day 457 - 2025-12-31 Stayed after some GEARS Hybrid stuff with my senior girls and got some work in. Also, kicked Tegan's butt at a chipping contest with a wedge that has a lousy toe profile.
    • Day 141 12-31 Reconnecting arm and club face work. Making sure left wrist is arched only on the downswing. Not doing full swings, im pausing at the top and will do a few rehearsals.  Hit a few real balls  after, and had some curve way left.
    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn.
