HI everyone, I am sick of my terrible putting stroke and would like to try a belly putter.

Is there any way to lengthen my putter? I called Golfsmith and they said that they do not lengthen them more than a few inches. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? If possible i would like to keep my odyssey saberooth head, but i am open to all suggestions!!!!!

What's in my Golf Bag:

G 10 Driver
Hibore Hybrid 2I
i10 irons 4-U Wedge. Green Dot588 52 Degree WedgeCG12 56 Degree WedgeCG10 60 Degree WedgeSabertooth Putter

im pretty sure you have to get a whole new putter on most of 'em. there might be a way to change the shaft though idono.

This is what i did. Got a old shaft and cut it from the tip side to were it fit close to the butt end of the putter shaft. applied lead tape to cut piece of shaft to make the connection tight then epoxyed the two together. cut to final playing lenght. I then filled the shaft with DRY sand and packed as much as I could in there. Then went to hardware store and got a clevis pin and put that in the butt end and put a belly putter grip on. Checked and adjusted lie and went out and started sinking more putts. Hope this helps

    • Ok you’re right I’m wrong. After beating myself up trying to do well with my 20 year old ERC Fusion 10° driver, I bought a used Paradym driver 10.5° currently set to 11.5° (2023 technology) and what a difference. Not to drag out an old cliche’, but what a game changer.   After a rough day at the range (with Top Tracer) I picked up my new driver from the PO, drowned my sorrows a bit over lunch, and brought the new club home. I hit a couple balls on my home range and was more than pleased. Redeemed actually. Farther, straighter, and less effort. I’ll have to get used to the new lie angle, but I think it will make it easier, not harder.     And the best part - I only paid $110 for this unit (ok, the best part is how it launches the ball). It was a little rough in appearance, not that it matters, but I was a bit concerned. Turned out to not be so bad and with some Flitz and a little elbow grease, I have it looking quite spiffy.  Club face is nice too but the file was too big so that pic didn’t post.   And BTW X-ray, we sold the horses, so the old one isn’t even good for that!
    • I didn't see it mentioned, did you have to pay anything in advance for these arrangements?  If so, please let us know, I'm sure we'll all get our share to you quickly.
    • Day 207 - 2025-04-25 Did a little swing work mostly in helping others, but I got some swings of my own in as what I was demonstrating to them is what I'm working on. Was going to play but it's raining and I have a podcast to record with Mike Carroll.
    • 86 isn't slow. It's either takeaway and impact when they beep, or the ends of the backstroke and follow-through.
    • I mean… Pickett's small hands won't be able to hold it down very well. 🙂
