I just took up the game again and am buying all new equipment. For now, I can only afford one golf bag. Like every other equipment choice, I'm a little overwhelmed by the variety available and need some help.

I assume I should buy a stand bag, as I'll be riding and walking about equally. I would like to spend under $100, unless I can't get a good bag for that cheap.

All of the following bags are less than $100 and all look good to me--I really have no basis for comparison, so I thought I'd ask you guys' opinions. Thanks.

Ogio Ozone - $100
Ogio Vaporlite - $80
Callaway XTT Xtra Lite - $90
TaylorMade Corza - $80
Mizuno GTX - $90
Sun Mountain Superlight - $90

In my Grom:

Launcher 9.0 and 3W. Fujikura Hit-on-M Red X-Stiff
'09 Burners 3-AW. KBS +1" Stiff. 1x hard-stepped
A7 2H. UST ProForce Axiv Stiff 56.08 SW Stainless. G5i Putter. TP Burner LDP or Bridgestone e6+.

I like the Ogio's. You should also look at the "Ogio Grom" Hop on Ebay, there are some Ogio Groms with around 30mins to an hour left that are at about 80 bucks ATM.

TGW has the Sun Mountain MPB closeout model for $100 right now. (shows 119, but 101 after adding to your cart. I just got it and it is very nice.

If you have access to Costco, the ones in my town have been selling a decent Callaway stand bag for $90.

I actually bought this bag and I really like it.

I don't know how it could get much better than this bag, but then I don't really have a lot of experience with golf bags.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I put in the minimum bid ($85) on an Ogio Grom on Ebay, not expecting to win it...but I did and feel like I got a really good deal.

Now I just need some clubs to put in the bag!

Launcher 9.0 and 3W. Fujikura Hit-on-M Red X-Stiff
'09 Burners 3-AW. KBS +1" Stiff. 1x hard-stepped

Gratz man that is a great deal you got there. Also, be careful about buying clubs off of Ebay. Just a lot of fake ones sold on there. No need to worry about bags though.

I just got the TM Corza off of the clearance rack at Sports Authority for $60. Anybody else in the Charleston SC area there are a couple more. The only problem I have is the way the slots line up. I only carry 12 and I haven't figured out what to do with the three slots running vertically on the left side.

    • Day 18: 2026.01.20 Continuing work on arm raise during backswing. Starting to feel less weird, especially the slower I go. Looking like a busy week so might be the weekend before I can hit some balls.
    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
